The Maryland Mortgage Program (MMP) has always been geared toward helping first time home buyers in Maryland with down payment and closing cost assistance.  MMP defines a first time home buyer as a person who has not owned a home in the most recent three years.

Now, MMP has come out with it’s new line of loan programs call Flex.  The Flex programs are open to anyone who does not currently own real estate, even if you have owned recently.

The Flex programs offer second mortgages and grants that can be used to help with down payment and closing costs.
